(BRYAN) - An Illinois truck driver is facing a felony charge in Ohio after prosecutors say he failed to pay nearly $22,000 in turnpike tolls.
According to , 39-year-old Moath Musamih of Orland Park has been indicted on a charge of grand theft in Williams County Common Pleas Court.
Court documents allege Musamih knowingly used toll services without paying between April 2024 and April 2026, resulting in a loss of $21,991 to the Ohio Turnpike Commission.
Under Ohio law, that amount qualifies as a fourth-degree felony, which covers thefts exceeding $7,500 but less than $150,000.
The indictment also includes a forfeiture specification tied to a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck that investigators say may have been used in connection with the case.
Musamih is scheduled to appear in court May 4.
