(INDIANAPOLIS) - An investigation is underway after a 38-year-old woman died Saturday at Indianapolis International Airport.
According to a police report, dispatchers monitoring security cameras saw the woman fall from the outer curb of the Upper Terminal Drive around 12:15 p.m. She fell approximately 50 feet to a grassy area below.
First responders with the Indianapolis International Airport Police Department and Airport Fire Department arrived and began life-saving efforts. Additional medics, along with the Plainfield Fire Department, continued those efforts for about 30 minutes.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Marion County Coroner's Office responded shortly before 2 p.m.
In a statement, airport officials confirmed the fatality happened just after 12:15 p.m. and said life-saving measures were unsuccessful.
The investigation remains ongoing.
