(INDIANAPOLIS) -- Hoosiers have one week left to register for the May primary election.
The deadline to register to vote, update an address, or change party-related registration information is Monday, April 6. Indiana law requires registration to close 29 days before Election Day.
Voters can register online or check their status through IndianaVoters.com before midnight on the deadline day. Mail and in-person registrations must also be completed by April 6.
Indiana's primary election is set for Tuesday, May 5.
Early in-person voting begins the next day, April 7, at county clerk offices and satellite voting locations around the state.
Election officials are encouraging voters to double-check their registration now, especially if they have moved, changed their name, or have not voted in several election cycles.
