BRONSON, Mich. – A fire over the weekend is being labeled an arson.

Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber says his department was called to a grass fire at 1:30 PM Saturday that was burning near U.S. 12 and Wheeler Road. Fire fighters arrived on scene and found that fire was less than 50 yards away from a barn that was full of equipment.

The Coldwater Fire Department was called to provide mutual aid, and eventually the fire was put out, but not before it burned five acres of land.

Wilber says an investigation determined the fire was started by an individual near the railroad tracks on Wheeler Road.
