ANGOLA, IN - Gary Greene, Ph.D., PE, a faculty member in Trine University's Reiners Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for eight years, has been named department chair.

He replaces William Barry, Ph.D., who recently was named dean of the Allen School of Engineering and Computing.

An associate professor at Trine University, Greene has taught Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics classes to mostly sophomore- and junior-level engineering students. He has earned two McKetta teaching awards.

He has made several presentations at technical sessions and authored papers and reports on structural concrete. He is an active member of the Trine Laboratory Safety Committee and Committee of Department Representation.
Prior to coming to Trine, Greene spent seven years as part of the contract research staff at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center, a facility that is part of the Federal Highway Administration.
