(LAGRANGE) - Handbags and generosity came together in a big way this year as the LaGrange County Chamber of Commerce announced a record-setting total from its annual Power of the Purse fundraiser.
The 2025 event raised $49,560, the highest amount in the program's history. Proceeds directly support backpack food programs in LaGrange County public schools, helping ensure students have reliable access to meals outside of school hours.
Since its inaugural event in 2010, Power of the Purse has raised more than $325,000 for local backpack programs, underscoring the community's long-standing commitment to supporting children and families.
The annual event brings residents, businesses, and organizations together around a shared mission of giving back while celebrating connection and local impact. Chamber leaders say the continued growth of the fundraiser reflects LaGrange County's dedication to investing in the future of its students.
