(COLDWATER) - A serious bus driver shortage is hitting Branch County schools hard, with Coldwater Community Schools forced to cancel an entire route Monday -- leaving parents scrambling to get children to and from school.
District leaders say the problem has become a near-daily struggle as they try to cover routes with too few drivers. In Quincy, administrators are stepping in behind the wheel, pulling them away from other duties. Bronson School officials say all three districts urgently need dependable applicants willing to train and join their transportation teams.
