Bitter Cold Returns: Dangerous Wind Chills Ahead -- Keep Pets and Livestock Safe

(ANGOLA) - Temperatures in our area will be dropping to dangerous lows this week. Officials are reminding everyone to protect pets and livestock from the bitter cold. The National Weather Service reports a blast of arctic air arrives Wednesday night. Scattered snow showers may bring up to half an inch of snow, and the real punch comes with the temperatures. Highs Thursday will only reach the low 20s, and by Thursday night, lows drop into the single digits -- even near zero in some spots. Animals must be provided with warm shelter, unfrozen water, and limited exposure as the arctic air settles in.
