(STEUBEN COUNTY) - Drivers in Steuben County may encounter delays this week as both utility work and road maintenance projects are scheduled at several locations.
The most noticeable impact is expected at County Road 100 North and County Road 200 West, where NIPSCO crews will relocate gas lines Monday through Thursday as part of preparations for the county's upcoming roundabout project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers, but motorists should expect delays while traveling through the area.
At the same time, Steuben County Highway crews will be performing extensive grading and adding gravel on several county-maintained roads. Work is planned on:
• County Road 675 East between County Road 300 South and Metz Road
• County Road 800 East between County Road 700 South and County Road 650 South
• Johnson Lake Road between County Road 100 East and County Road 200 East
• Shaughniss Road from County Road 275 East east for one-half mile
County officials are asking drivers to stay at least 500 feet behind highway equipment while crews are working.
Steuben County Engineer Chip Porter thanked motorists for their patience and caution while traveling through work zones this week.
