(ANGOLA) - Trine University's chemical engineering program is celebrating several national awards from this year's American Institute of Chemical Engineers student conference. Recent graduate Parker Reichhart won two national awards in AIChE's Student Design Competition for his project on producing low-carbon "blue hydrogen." His design captured about 94% of CO₂ and earned second place nationally, along with a top safety award.

Current senior Noah Glassman received a $1,000 Othmer Scholarship, one of only 15 given nationwide for academic excellence and student chapter leadership.

Other Trine standouts included recent graduate Alyssa Keptner, who took second place in the undergraduate research competition, and junior Megan Conner, who earned the Othmer Academic Excellence Award for second-year students.

Several students also competed in ChemE Jeopardy, ChemEsports, and undergraduate research presentations.

Trine faculty say the results reflect the strength of the university's chemical engineering program and the dedication of its students.
