(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana State Police say troopers made 38,233 traffic stops across the state during April.

According to state police, those stops resulted in 16,791 traffic citations and 30,479 warnings.

Troopers also made 295 drunk driving arrests during the month along with 1,426 criminal arrests connected to traffic stops. Another 1,094 criminal arrests were made involving non-traffic crimes.

Indiana State Police say troopers issued 1,485 seatbelt citations and 324 distracted driving citations in April.

Police investigated 1,002 crashes during the month, including 172 injury crashes and six fatal crashes.

Troopers also assisted 2,699 motorists dealing with disabled vehicles, flat tires, and other roadside problems.
