(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana State Police have released Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division statistics for April.
The division is responsible for enforcing state and federal regulations involving commercial motor vehicles across Indiana.
According to the agency, officers completed 5,105 commercial vehicle inspections between April 1st and April 30th.
State Police say 585 drivers were placed out of service during that time, along with 749 vehicles.
The division also reported 33 oversize violations and 540 overweight violations during the month.
The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division also conducts safety inspections, crash investigations involving commercial vehicles, school bus inspections, and enforcement of fuel tax and registration requirements.
Indiana State Police say the enforcement effort is part of Governor Mike Braun's public safety platform focused on roadway safety across the state.
