(INDIANAPOLIS) - Foster families in Indiana can now visit state parks across the state for free through a program offered by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

The DNR is providing free annual entrance passes to qualified foster families, allowing access to all Indiana State Park properties.

To apply, families must complete a short form available on the DNR website under state park entrance fees. Once finished, the form can be submitted by email to PermitApplication@dnr.IN.gov.

State Parks Director Brandt Baughman says the goal is to help families spend more time together outdoors.

"Indiana State Parks are a great place for families to make memories and come closer together," Baughman said. "We're proud to offer free passes to foster families to help them explore our parks across the state."

Families who have trouble completing the form are encouraged to download it and fill it out using Adobe Acrobat Reader before submitting.
