(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana pharmacy regulators have rejected a proposed settlement with IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in a drug diversion case, according to WFFT-TV.

The Indiana Board of Pharmacy voted to deny the agreement, which included a $44,000 fine and probation for the hospital's pharmacy license. The board instead set the case for a full administrative hearing later this summer.

At the same meeting, the board voted to renew the hospital's pharmacy license, allowing operations to continue while the case moves forward.

The case centers on a former pharmacy manager accused of diverting controlled substances over several years without detection.

Board members raised concerns about the scope and duration of the diversion and said the proposed penalties did not go far enough.

A criminal case against the former employee remains pending.
