(FORT WAYNE) - A man involved in a police chase that led to a fatal crash has pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges.

Court records show 24-year-old Tyler Alberding entered a plea agreement Tuesday tied to a June 2025 pursuit.

Alberding pleaded guilty to dealing methamphetamine as a Level 2 felony, resisting law enforcement as Level 3 and Level 5 felonies, failure to remain at the scene of a crash resulting in death as a Level 4 felony, and failure to remain at the scene of a crash with injury as a Level 6 felony.

Indiana State Police say Alberding fled from officers during a drug investigation and crashed into an SUV and a pickup truck near Clinton Street and Wallen Road.

A passenger in the SUV, 93-year-old Carolyn Hutchinson, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died from her injuries.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 21.
