(FORT WAYNE) - Indiana Governor Mike Braun says the state is making progress in efforts to bring the Chicago Bears to northwest Indiana, though a final deal has not yet been reached.
Braun told 21Alive negotiations are ongoing and could take at least a couple more months to complete.
"If I were a betting man, I would say there's a better chance of that happening than not," Braun said, referring to the possibility of the NFL team relocating to Hammond.
Braun said the Bears began exploring Indiana as an option after what he described as limited cooperation from Illinois leaders.
