(KALAMAZOO) - The FBI is investigating after packets containing orange Kool-Aid powder and other substances were mailed to Republican Party offices across Michigan.
The deliveries targeted the Michigan Republican Party headquarters and GOP offices in Gladwin, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kent, Midland and Oakland counties.
Party officials say one envelope contained an orange Kool-Aid packet and a handwritten message reading, "Please stop drinking the Trump Orange Kool-Aid." The recipient initially discarded the packet before learning similar mailings had been sent to other locations.
Authorities note that sending unidentified powders with threatening messages can constitute a federal crime. The investigation remains ongoing.
