Man Found Dead in Marion Home; Wife Charged with Murder

(GRANT COUNTY) - Authorities in Grant County are investigating a fatal shooting that left a 74-year-old man dead and his wife charged with murder.

Deputies were called early Wednesday to a home in the 100 block of North 700 East near Marion for a reported shooting. Inside, they found Thomas Gray suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Gray had been shot once in the chest.

Shortly after the shooting, deputies located 67-year-old Sandra Gray at a Love's Truck Stop. According to officials, she had called 911 to report that she shot her husband. She was taken into custody and now faces a murder charge.

Indiana State Police and the Marion Police Department assisted at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Grant County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division.
