(FREMONT) - An anonymous donor is making it possible for Fremont High School students to attend this weekend's Class 1A girls basketball state championship game in Indianapolis free of charge.

School officials say the donor purchased 100 tickets for students. The first 100 Fremont High School students to sign up in the high school office will receive a complimentary ticket to Saturday's championship game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where Fremont will face No. 2 Borden for the Class 1A title.

The Lady Eagles' game will be broadcast on WLKI 100.3 FM. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

Students are not required to ride school transportation to receive a ticket. However, a fan bus will be available for those needing a ride, departing from the high school at approximately 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Fremont is one of three northeast Indiana teams competing for state championships this weekend. In Class 4A, Norwell -- playing at the state's highest level for the first time -- will face Center Grove after advancing past Crown Point and McCutcheon. In Class 3A, Bellmont earned its first semi-state title with wins over Culver Academies and Connersville and will take on Roncalli.

All three teams will play for state titles Saturday in Indianapolis, with Fremont's community support boosted by the anonymous gift ensuring a strong student presence in the stands.
