(CORUNNA) - Authorities are investigating after the body of an unidentified woman was discovered Friday morning in western DeKalb County.
DeKalb County Sheriff Brady Thomas said the body was found just off County Road 17 near County Road 20 at approximately 11:18 a.m., after emergency responders were alerted to the scene.
Deputies launched an investigation with assistance from the Waterloo Marshal's Office, Indiana State Police, and the Auburn Police Department.
Officials have not released the woman's identity, and the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear.
"This is still an active investigation and no further information can be released at this time," Thomas said in a statement, adding that a more detailed update is expected early this week.
