(MUNCIE) - A 33-year-old Muncie man faces multiple felony charges after police say he attempted to rob a Taco Bell while armed with pruning shears.
Court records identify the suspect as Ricky Taylor, who is charged with attempted armed robbery, intimidation with a deadly weapon, and possession of methamphetamine. Officers were called to the Taco Bell after employees reported a man wearing a red mask and bright orange hoodie demanding money from the register.
Police later located Taylor at a nearby AutoZone, still wearing clothing matching the description given by restaurant workers. Officers recovered pruning shears from his pocket and about half a gram of methamphetamine during a search, according to court documents.
Investigators say surveillance video from the restaurant shows Taylor jabbing the pruning shears toward employees during the incident. Taylor later told officers the encounter amounted to intimidation and robbery.
Taylor was taken into custody and booked on the felony charges. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
