(COLDWATER) - An 84-year-old woman was injured Wednesday night after her vehicle crashed onto the ice of Coldwater Lake in Branch County.
Deputies were called just after 7 p.m. to Centennial Road near Warren Road for a single-vehicle crash. When they arrived, they found the vehicle on its side on the frozen lake, with the driver trapped inside.
Two sheriff's deputies and a Michigan State Police trooper worked together to free the woman from the vehicle. EMS crews treated the woman and then transferred her to Insight Hospital for treatment. Her condition was not released.
VIP Towing later recovered the vehicle from the ice.
Michigan State Police, Lakeland Fire Department, Life Care EMS, VIP Towing and Branch County Central Dispatch assisted at the scene.
