(STEUBEN COUNTY) - The Steuben County Commissioners have lowered the county's travel status to an Advisory Level, also known as a Yellow travel advisory, officials announced.
County Highway Department crews continue working to clear roadways and push back drifting snow following recent winter weather. While conditions have improved, motorists are still urged to use caution when traveling on county roads.
The Yellow travel advisory will remain in effect and will be re-evaluated at a later time, county officials said.
A Yellow, or Advisory Level, is the lowest level of local travel advisory. It indicates that routine travel or activities may be restricted in certain areas due to hazardous conditions. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, remain alert and avoid problem areas when possible.
County officials thanked residents for their patience as crews continue cleanup efforts.
