(ANGOLA) - Steuben County REMC and the regional power grid operator say electricity supply is critically tight. Members are being asked to immediately reduce usage until further notice.
What You Can Do Right Now:
• Set your thermostat to 68 degrees
• Delay showers, dishwashers, and laundry to later in the day
• Turn off lights, electronics, and appliances not actively in use
• Use a microwave, air fryer, or instant pot instead of an oven
• Avoid charging electric vehicles if possible
Even small reductions can help prevent outages during this period of extreme cold.
