(LAGRANGE COUNTY) - A late-night crash on the Indiana Toll Road turned deadly in LaGrange County.
Indiana State Police say a box truck carrying two people was headed west just before 11 Monday night near the 120-mile marker when it suddenly left the roadway. The truck crossed into the grassy median, rolled over, and slammed down on its roof.
The driver, 45-year-old Neda Meketa of Haslet, Texas, was killed instantly. Her family has been notified.
A male passenger survived and was taken to Parkview LaGrange Hospital with minor injuries.
First responders from multiple agencies rushed to the scene, including county deputies, local police, fire crews, medics, and the coroner's office.
State police say drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors. The crash remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police Incident Reconstruction Team.
