Southeast Michigan Man Arrested For Homicide Identified

HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI - The Michigan State Police say a 26-year-old woman from Hillsdale is dead after shots were fired following an incident Friday night.

MSP Troopers with the Jackson Post responded to the 11000 block of Opel Drive in Jerome, located in Hillsdale County’s Somerset Township. The initial call came out around 10 PM.

Few details have been released about the shooting at the suspects home.  The Hillsdale Daily News reported a 26-year-old female who broke into the alleged shooter’s home home was the deceased victim.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department jail tracker has identified the suspected shooter as 27-year-old Jonathan Navarre Ressler.

He was arrested and is currently being held at the Hillsdale County Jail on a homicide charge.

An arraigned is scheduled for Monday, August 15th.

The incident remains under investigation.
