HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI - The Michigan State Police say a 26-year-old woman from Hillsdale is dead after shots were fired following an incident Friday night.

MSP Troopers with the Jackson Post responded to the 11000 block of Opel Drive in Jerome, located in Hillsdale County’s Somerset Township. The initial call came out around 10 PM.

Authorities say the suspect is a 26-year-old male. He was arrested and is currently being held at the Hillsdale County Jail on a homicide charge.

The suspect name has not yet been released.

An arraigned is scheduled for Monday, August 15th.

The incident remains under investigation.
