NE Indiana Unemployment Rates Drop in July

INDIANAPOLIS – Northeast Indiana's jobless rates went down from June to July.

The Indiana Department Of Workforce Development shows that LaGrange County had a decrease in their unemployment rate of three-tenths of a percent, going from 2.8 in June to 2.5 in July. LaGrange County is tied with Boone County for the second lowest unemployment rate in the State. Elkhart County saw the largest drop in the area going from 3.4 to 2.9 percent, which is a drop of one-half a percent.

Steuben County and Noble County each saw their unemployment rates drop four-tenths of a percent. Steuben County went from 3.3 to 2.9 percent, while Noble County decreased from 4.2 to 3.8 percent.
DeKalb County saw a drop in their jobless rate from 3.7 to 3.4 percent. That's a decrease of three-tenths of a percent. Statewide, the jobless rate for Indiana was unchanged from June to July,
remaining at 4.1 percent.
