ANGOLA, IN – A man was arrested after robbing an Angola restaurant Wednesday.

According to the Angola Police Department, shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday, authorities were notified of a robbery that occurred at Wings Etc Grill & Pub (located at 309 North. Wayne Street).

Reports indicate a male suspect entered the restaurant and demanded an employee to pull money from a cash register. The suspect did not show a weapon, but investigators say he had his hand in his sweatshirt as if he were holding a firearm.

After unsuccessfully opening the register, the suspect forced the employee to give him cash from a safe located in the manager’s office. The suspect then fled with an unspecified amount of cash.
Witnesses saw the suspect enter a residence not far from the eyesight of the business’s front door. Police arrived shortly thereafter and arrested the suspect after obtaining a search warrant.

Authorities recovered the stolen cash, along with suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at the residence.

Angola City Police arrested Nicholas Daniel Jordan, age 32 of Corunna, Indiana. He was charged with robbery.

According to a news release from Angola City Police, additional charges are likely.

Assisting in the investigation were the Indiana State Police, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Angola Police Department Communications, Fremont Police Department, and the Steuben County Prosecutor’s Office.
