Child Abducted From Colorado Recovered By State Troopers In Williams County

Williams County, OH - Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol at the Swanton Patrol Post were alerted to a possible child abduction out of Colorado Saturday evening, which led to the capture of the kidnapper and victim in Williams County, Ohio.

Troopers located a Black 2017 Cadillac CTS that matched the description on the Ohio Turnpike and initiated a traffic stop at milepost 15 in Jefferson Township, Williams County. The abducted child was located inside the vehicle and the non-custodial mother, Christine Mascarenas, was taken into custody without further incident.

Mrs. Mascarenas was transported to the Correction Center of Northwest Ohio where she will be held pending extradition to Colorado. The charges originating out of Westminster, Colorado.

The child was released to the Williams County Child services.
