Angola Fire Department Pension Board Meets Wednesday Morning
By: Michael McIntyre - Wednesday, July 22, 2020

On Wednesday morning, the City of Angola Fire Department were finally able to meet once again, this time at the Agnola Training Center and put to bed some items that were originally proposed back in early March.

One major item up for discussion was the adoption of the Candidate Physical Ability Test or "CPAT" requirements for new hire applicants within the Angola Fire Department Pension Board in regards to physical capabilities and agility.

Angola Fire Chief, T.R. Hagerty made the motion to adopt CPAT, rather than the previous "Pass/Fail Exam" that has been used in the past. "The CPAT is nationally recognized and known by the IAFF (International Association of Fire Fighters) and was designed by the IAFF," Hagerty explained.

The motion was passed by the board.

Following the CPAT discussion, the board moved into an executive session that was held amongst just the board itself.
