Coronavirus Cases Clear 24,000 Mark In Indiana Sunday

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced on Sunday that 402 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings the total number of cases within the state to 24,126.

Intensive care unit and ventilator capacity remain steady. Nearly 42 percent of ICU beds and nearly 82 percent of ventilators were available as of Saturday.

A total of 1,379 Hoosiers have been confirmed to have died of COVID-19, an increase of 17 over the previous day. Another 129 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.

To date, 140,029 tests have been reported to ISDH, up from 135,686 on Saturday.

Locally Steuben County stands with 62 cases, while LaGrange County has 38 cases and Noble County has 132. DeKalb County remains to have the fewest amount of cases within Northeast Indiana with 23 cases, while Allen County remains the highest with 816.
