Williams County Schools Losing $1.15 Million Collectively
Saturday, May 9, 2020

BRYAN, OH - Local schools in Williams County are collectively losing $1.15 million in state funding.

Each school district in Williams County recently lost a sizable portion of its state funding due to COVID-19-related cuts from the state level, affecting schools statewide.

The eight school districts serving thousands of local students will lose almost $1.2 million when the state follows through with the education cuts proposed last week by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.

DeWine proposed the cuts May 5 as part of the $775 million he said the state is forced to cut from its budget to meet an anticipated revenue shortfall from the COVID-19 pandemic.
