Two New Cases of COVID-19 In Steuben County Reported

The Steuben County Health Department was notified of two (2) positive COVID-19 test results for Steuben County residents from April 28th-29th. One patient is under the age of 60 years old and the second patient is over the age of 60 years old. We have been in communications with the patients and the Indiana State Department of Health epidemiologist to identify, notify and monitor any close contacts. No additional information about the patients will be released due to patient privacy laws.

Steuben County currently has 23 COVID-19 positive cases, 14 individuals considered recovered from COVID-19 and 1 death associated with COVID-19. To date, 406 tests have been administered in Steuben County.

On Tuesday, Governor Holcomb announced new COVID-19 testing efforts with assistance from the Indiana National Guard and Optum. This testing is available to any resident of Indiana that is experiencing symptoms, is a close contact to a confirmed COVID-19 positive case or an individual living in a communal setting. A site in Angola was choose by the State Department of health and additional information will be forthcoming as it is released.
