Monday Afternoon ATV Crash In DeKalb County Injures One

On Monday afternoon at around 2:39 P.M. in the 400 block of County Road 65 in DeKalb County, 43-year-old Norman Dohner of Hamilton, Indiana was heading northbound on his Polaris Four-Wheel ATV when it went left of center and side swiped a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 60-year-old Michael Frost of Butler which was heading south bound.

Frost attempted to avoid Dohner by going off into the ditch on the west side of the roadway but was unable to avoid him. Dohner, along with his passenger, Victoria R. Dohner age-14 were both ejected from the four wheel.

Norman Dohner was air lifted by Parkview Samaritan to PRMC for head trauma and, Victoria Dohner was taken by Parkview DeKalb EMS to Parkview Regional Medical Center for back and leg pain.

Reports from the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department indicate that Norman Dohner was not wearing a helmet, but Victoria Dohner was wearing a helmet.

Witness to the accident advised that the four wheeler was traveling at a high rate of speed, as the incident remains under investigation.
