The Angola Plan Commission approved future commercial/retail development next to Meijer on Monday evening.

The Commission approved a request from Strategic Growth Advisors for Meijer Stores Inc. The property’s address is yet to be determined but is currently using the Meijer address. The city has asked Meijer to name the streets within the property. The location is in the 300-400 block of East Wendall Jacob Ave. The property is 4.24 acres and will be subdivided as one lot for a Financial Credit Union building of 2,800 square feet and the retail structure will be a disconnected 10,000 sq feet for four different tenants and will include drive up capabilities on both sides for three seperate drive ups and patio space.

The property has existing utility easement at the front for public utilities and sidewalk. A purchase agreement for the property has been submitted.

The Commission will see the development plans for approval once the property is acquired from Meijer to review infrastructure utility plans, lighting details, landscaping, drainage plans and more.
