Fishing Changes From Indiana DNR
Monday, February 3, 2020

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Natural Resources Commission gave preliminary approval to increased large mouth bass size and bag limits on four Noble County lakes.

The change would affect Bixler, Henderson, Little Long and Round
Lakes in Noble County. Large mouth bass would have to be at least 18 inches long to be taken.

The daily bag limit would be reduced to two large mouth bass.

The goal of the change is to help control carp populations. Each of the
lakes has a very large carp population but few bass big enough to help control them.

The NRC will review the public comments before voting on final adoption
of the changes later in 2020. Rule changes that are given final adoption must still be approved by the Attorney General’s office and Governor’s office and filed with the Indiana Register before taking effect.
