Indiana House Bill 1003 Passes Unanimously

It’s been called the school freedom bill, and it got unanimous support in the Indiana House on Tuesday as the House passed HB 1003 by a vote of 98-to-zero.

It authorizes the State Board of Education to enable school districts to
waive Indiana education laws and rules.

It would also change professional growth requirements for teachers and
possibly reduce the amount of teacher training requirements.

Regulations for collective bargaining, graduation requirements, special
education and some student safety regulations could not be waived.
