The Angola Services and Budget Committee make a recommendation to award $5,000 to a local organization that helps the youth in the community.
Board members made a recommendation which will be brought to the Angola Common Council to award $5,000 in 2019 and 2020 to Community Anti Violence Alliance for a Safe Exchange Program buy in. The Community Anti Violence Alliance has been in the community since 2001. In order to receive a minimum grant of $550,000 the Alliance must show that stakeholders are investing in their programming.
Common Council also gathered following the conclusion of the Services and Budget Committee meeting and approved a sum of $577.50 for a freshman window shine and paint at Mitchells located at 180 North Public Square. Council also heard a report from the Freedom Academy who reported serving 14 companies throughout Steuben County and the region. The maintenance class continues to be in high demand and is now offered twice per day.
The Angola Common Council will meet again on Monday, December 2nd at 7PM.
