Strike Ends Between General Motors and United Auto Workers Union
Monday, October 28, 2019

News rang out on Friday that the strike by over 49,000 UAW members at various General Motors plants across the country was officially coming to an end, after a tiresome 40+ day work stoppage at plants across the country.

The United Auto Workers Union says members voted to approve the agreement with General Motors with 57.2 % voting yes, nationally and 42.8 voting no. Locally in the Fort Wayne truck assembly plant, the margin was much tighter with 50.8 percent voting to approve, 49.1 percent voting it down.

Several areas across the country did vote the new agreement down, but did not over power the other plants who indeed did ratify the new agreement.
