The Fremont Neighborhood Crime Watch, in conjunction with the Fremont Library, and Fremont City Park & Recreation Department is sponsoring A Night in the Park at the Fremont City Park from 6 to 9pm on Friday nights in July(16,19, and 30th). The N.C.W. will be featuring music by D.J. "Nates Goodtime Entertainment." There will be many prizes, food, drinks, and games. A "Kids ID program" will also be presented by local police officer, A.J. Carpenter. The Potawatami Inn has donated a "Romantic Night and Dinner for Two" as one of the big prizes. Then at dusk, A "Mosquito Theater" (Family Viewing Movies) will be presented by the Fremont Library and Parks & Recreation Department.


The Fremont Farmers' Market is on Saturdays from 8am until noon at Fremont City Park (where the water tower is). There will be Amish baked goods, flowers, plants, and jams and jellies. Fresh strawberries and other fruits and vegetables will also be available from the gardens.

There will be a Summer Festival on July 31st at Riverside Park in Defiance on Saturday, July 31st from 4pm to 7pm. They will have inflatables, face painting, games and dramas, and hot dogs and drinks. Everyone is invited to come.


The youth group of Camden Missionary Church is hosting "Movies in the Park" on Saturday, July 31st at the Outreach Center, 611 West Bell Street in Camden, MI, beginning at 8pm with classic Little Rascals and Looney Tunes. Admission is free, donations are welcome, and snacks are provided for a small charge. All proceeds will benefit the youth group at Camden Missionary Church.


Union Chapel Church of God, corner of Williams County Road 18.75 and City Road 18 Bryan, Ohio, is having a Potato Bar on July 31st from 5:30pm until 7:30pm. This event is a free will offering and there will be a bake sale.

Fremont's Key Club is having a Fund Raiser at The Copper Cup in Hamilton, Indiana on July 31st from 10am until 10pm to help raise funds for future community service projects. Please bring a lawn chair, and enjoy a nice day outside with some great local art, music, and coffee.

The Fremont Public Library will host "Garden Topics," an informal get-together for area gardeners of all experience levels who would like to learn about seed gathering, as well as take a tour of the Library's landscape of native plants. The program wil be held on Monday, August 2, at 6pm, at Fremont Public Library. The Hamilton Classic will be on August 8th at Lake James Golf Blub, with a Shotgun start at 9am. Come out and support the Men's Golf Team and the Women's Basketball Team. The 6th Annual CHWC Hospital Hospice Butterfly Release Memorial Program will be held on Wednesday, August 4th, at 6:30pm at Garver Park Rotary Pavilion, west of Bryan High School and Bryan Hospital. Some seating will be available, but guests are invited to bring lawn chairs. No reservations are required and all area residents are welcome to attend. The 88th Annual Farmer Cemetery Social will be Thursday, August 5th at the Old Farmer Elementary School lawn. There will be great food, bingo, and live entertainment. M.S.D. of Steuben County Food Service will serve lunch to ANY child ages 1-18 at NO CHARGE. Lunch will be served from 11:15 until noon, Monday through Friday, on the southwest side of Carlin Park Elementary. Meals must be eaten on site. In the event of rain, meals will be served in the dining room of the Elementary. Public restrooms are available at Firemen's Park.

The Steuben County Lakes Council, Inc. will be holding their Annual Meeting on Saturday, August 7th at 8:30am at the Lake James Christian Assembly. Donuts and Coffee will be served followed by a short business meeting. Speakers and a silent auction will be present. The public is welcome to attend.


The Ashley/Hudson Festival will be July 30th, August 5th, 6th, and 7th at the place where the two towns meet: The Cinder Path. July 30th there will be a 5K, 10K Run at Hardy Park in Hudson. August 5th will be the Miss Ashley Hudson Pageant at Country Meadows Elementary School at 6:30pm. August 6th is the Fire Department Water Ball at Smiley Park in Ashley followed by a Blue Light Parade at dusk.


On August 7th, Williams County will be having B2 the B 2010 Cancer Assistance at the Grandstand at Williams County Fair Grounds. There are three different route you can choose from; Long distance(50 miles) with a $50 donation and start time of 7:00am, Intermediate distance(27 miles) with a $40 donation and start time of 8:00am, and short distance(10 miles) with a $25 donation and start time of 9:00am. Every Saturday, the Faith Harvest Christian Church will be having a Community Soup Kettle from noon to 2pm. The church is located at 1105 North Williams Street Angola, IN. The very popular Angola Farmer's Market is held every Saturday from 8am-12pm in the north parking lot of the Steuben Community Center on S. Wayne Street, and also every Wednesday from 1-5pm on North Wayne Street in the Smorgie's parking lot, next to Wendy's.
